About the Howard Malach Legacy Fund for Jewish Nature Connection
The Fund was set up in 2024 by Howard’s family and specifically, his daughter, Sabrina Malach. Sabrina is a co-founder of Shoresh and has helped to shape the organization for 15 years. She developed the fund to honour the 13th yartzheit of Howard and to ensure that his legacy and commitment to Shoresh lives on.

The purpose of the Fund is to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to develop their awe and wonder, their wow, through Shoresh. The fund provides financial support for Shoresh’s events and programs to anyone in need.

For more information about the fund, or how to receive a subsidy, please e-mail Tiferet.

About Howard Malach
Howard was one of Shoresh’s early supporters. From the Kavanah Garden to our Community Supported Agriculture program, he cheered us on giving us the confidence and love to believe in our vision when we were a tiny seed. His personal philosophies deeply impacted our mission and vision for what Shoresh would become. For example, Howard had a deep understanding of the critical importance of awe and wonder and would sign his letters and emails “How Wow Now” (translated as how incredible is this moment). He also believed that the deepest longing we have as humans is to feel connected to each other, the earth and ancestral wisdom. He passed away on the evening of Shoresh’s official launch in May 2011 and his memory, passion, generosity and spirit have been guiding us since.
