Youth and Family Program Associate

Overview and Job Summary: Working closely with our Director of Programs, Shoresh’s Youth and Family Program Associate will be at the foundation of Shoresh’s nature-based Jewish educational programming. The Youth and Family Program Associate will be responsible for facilitating hands-on nature-based programs rooted in Jewish teachings and values. Our programs explore local ecology, natural cycles, and environmental stewardship…all from a Jewish perspective! Programs take place primarily at Shoresh’s Kavanah Garden, and also at Bela Farm and in various locations across the GTA. The Youth and Family Program Associate will also support the maintenance and care of Shoresh’s Kavanah Garden, our flagship educational programming site, in accordance with sustainable growing practices.
Key Responsibilities:
  •  In partnership with the Program Director, coordinate, develop, facilitate, and evaluate all Shoresh youth and family programs, including, but not limited to, Kavanah Garden Fieldtrips, Community Outreach Programs, Shoresh Outdoor School, and Community Festivals and Events
  • Source, prepare, and gather program materials when necessary
  • Record relevant program details
  • Support Shoresh educators, interns, and program volunteers, providing training when appropriate.
