Where Home is the Outdoors
Shoresh is a local Jewish community connected to the earth, Jewish tradition, and each other. We deepen people’s relationships with nature and Judaism by offering immersive opportunities to get outside and be present.
We offer programs for all ages where participants are invited to play, explore, root in the earth, and get their hands dirty.

Programs for Everyone
Nitzanim Toddler Program
Toddlers (18 months to 4 years old) and their caregivers are invited to spend 4 Sundays exploring the water, mud, sticks, and stones in the great outdoors with Shoresh educators.
Shoresh Outdoor School
A nature-based Jewish learning experience on Sunday afternoons for kids in SK to grade 3 where the forest becomes the classroom and the cycles of Jewish life unfold under open skies.
Camp Shoresh
A unique, hands-on summer day camp experience where kids ages 4-9 connect to nature, Jewish traditions, and each other through outdoor exploration, games, songs, and environmental learning in local Toronto parks.
Yesod B’nei Mitzvah Journey
A year-long, nature-based B’nei Mitzvah experience for youth in Grades 7 and 8 seeking a meaningful rite of passage that weaves Jewish wisdom and ritual, nature connection, and wilderness skills with community and identity building.
Kehilat Yesod Teen Leadership Program
Through deep engagement with Jewish teachings and rituals, hands-on wilderness skills, and a meaningful relationship with the Earth, participants gain confidence, resilience, and a deeper sense of self, all within a supportive and vibrant Jewish community.
Zmanim Adult Program
A journey through the seasons with 9 months of nature-immersion, Jewish learning, and community building. We welcome Southern-Ontario-based Jewish adults excited to deepen their connection to Judaism, the natural world, and their sense of resilience.

Natural & Sustainable Ritual Products
Our online shop sells all-natural, sustainably crafted products and ritual items, such as honey from our own bees and 100% beeswax Chanukah, Shabbat, and Havdalah candles made by local artisans. Proceeds support our 4-acre bee sanctuary at Bela Farm.
