Shoresh’s initiatives are all framed by Jewish values and teachings that guide our relationship with the natural world. Our program content is based on Jewish ecological teachings and the ancient Jewish relationship with the land of Israel, including Jewish holiday cycles and agricultural calendar rhythms.
Our work strengthens the Jewish community of Southern Ontario by offering people a sense of belonging, resilience, and healing through a connection and mutual love of nature. Shoresh has a proud history of bringing our diverse Jewish community together across differences, including religious and secular Jews, LGBTQ+ Jews, Jews of colour, and mixed-heritage Jews.
