Cultivate AWE and WONDER with your community members at Shoresh’s Kavanah Garden! Book a hands-on, curricular-aligned, Jewishly-inspired field trip today.
The Kavanah Garden is Shoresh’s flagship programming space. Located at 145 Lebovic Campus Drive in Vaughan, the Kavanah Garden features organic vegetable and herb gardens, pollinator garden spaces, a natural playground, and is adjacent to a 5-acre ravine featuring a tributary of the East Don River. All of the food grown at Shoresh’s Kavanah Garden is donated to vulnerable community members through our tzedakah partnerships.
BELA FARM FIELD TRIPS (All Ages)
Visit your local Jewish farmers and beekeepers at Bela Farm! Meet our bees and trees and participate in meaningful environmental stewardship initiatives.
Located just 1 hour northwest of Toronto in Hillsburg, Bela Farm is Shoresh’s rural home for exploring and deepening land-based Jewish connections. This 100-acre property features Shoresh’s 4-acre Bee Sanctuary, which includes our 30 hive apiary, and Shoresh’s 20-acre native reforestation project. As well, we are currently transforming a tractor shed into Beit Shoresh, our new Welcome and Education Centre at the farm!
URBAN NATURE ADVENTURES (All Ages)
Experience Jewish outdoor education in one of our city’s urban green spaces. Meet a Shoresh educator for a guided nature walk in Cedarvale Ravine, Earl Bales Park, Evergreen Brickworks or another natural urban setting.
