Bring Jewish experiential education to your school, synagogue, or community group. We offer multiple hands-on, skill-based workshops that are fun, engaging, and strongly rooted in Jewish teaching.
Urban Teva Adventures (Guided Nature Walks)
Experience Jewish outdoor education in one of our city’s urban green spaces. Join a Shoresh educator on a guided nature walk in Cedarvale Ravine, Earl Bales Park, or other natural setting. Topics can include Plants and Pollinators, Animal Habitat and Biodiversity, or Wild Edibles.
Organic Gardening Workshop
Discover how to grow your own Garden of Eden. Learn gardening basics such as garden design, planting, and garden maintenance. This workshop is ideal for new gardeners and those looking to deepen their learning. This workshop can be tailored towards growing in small spaces.
No sandwich is complete without a kosher dill pickle. Learn how to make your own pickled products such as sauerkraut, kimchi, and pickled beans.
On Rosh Hashanah we enjoy apples and honey, neither of which would be possible without our pollinator friends . In this hands-on workshop you will learn about different kinds of pollinators, how to build bee condos to help attract native pollinators to your green spaces, and how to plant native wildflowers to feed our pollinator pals all season long.
…or customize a workshop that is just right for you.
All Hands-On Workshops are 30 minutes-2 hours long and can be booked year-round.
